Winson Lim, Head of Digital Product Development at FairPrice Group
Problem
The restructuring process within the organisation introduced a new structure, which in turn revealed certain capability gaps within the team. This change led to inconsistencies in digital literacy and readiness among various stakeholders. Some departments had a more advanced understanding of digital processes, while others lagged behind, making it difficult to align on common goals and leverage digital opportunities effectively.
Solutions
To address these challenges, CuriousCore facilitated a 1.5-day off-site training session. This included honest discussions around existing difficulties and used real-world case studies from other companies to illustrate solutions. The training aimed to foster an open dialogue, enabling participants to share insights and learn from other organisations’ experiences. This training was a foundational step within a broader initiative to implement a Centre of Excellence (CoE) and improve digital cohesion across the organisation.
Impact
As a result of the training, participants developed a stronger understanding of product thinking, allowing them to adopt a more strategic mindset when approaching digital initiatives. This new clarity empowered the digital team to advocate effectively for a product-oriented approach with business stakeholders, leading to better alignment across departments and a more unified vision in driving product development.
